House of Kata introduces the filter series KAMIZU with air injection in between the chambers, a series of multi chamber filter units that will bring pond keeping to a new level. KAMIZU filters can be delivered for both gravity as pump fed filtering and are very easy to maintain The most important thing however is that KAMIZU filters will aid in obtaining the best water quality possible. Characteristics: KAMIZU filter units are designed to meet the standards of the modern industrial aqua culture. De filter units have a robust shape and are made of high-quality polyester, added layer by layer by hand. Te design and material strength ensure a minimal expansion, even at full load. Each chamber has a conic bottom with a wide outlet. The wide outlet makes sure that you can rinse the chambers fast and effective. The system is very easy to maintain. The larger filter units are extra fortified. Thanks to the design they will continue to work without problems for a long period of time, even in case of high density of koi in your pond.
Air injection: In order to optimalize the bacteria cultures in the biofiltration an air injction is applied over the complete widht of the filter, in the partitioning walls. When the filter unit is working, a curtain of airbubbles is injected in the opposite direction of the water flow. This way of aeration supllies the water with the maximum amount of oxygen. Moreover the entire filtermass is beter used. By aerating inbetween the chambers, the biofilm and eventuel dirt is not blown of the filtermedia. This opposing to filters where the aeration is underneath the filtermaterial.

The filter units can be filled with different filter materials.
1st chamber: The 1st chamber is filled with aluminum bars, these are mounted in the filter structure so that the brushes can be divided evenly. Conical bottom with wide drain. Filling 1st chamber: Sturdy filter brushes, fabricated with stainless steel wire from high-quality polypropylene. Brushes prepped for hanging at the top and a safety hull at the end. The high density brushes can be put very close together and very evenly, giving the 1st chamber a high density of the filter media.
2nd en 3rd chamber: Spacious chambers with sufficient surface. Conical bottom with wide drain. The chambers are filled with KAMIZU mats. These 5,5 cm thick mats are made of fine, extremely strong fiber and have an unique open structure. The special method of production increases the effective surface for bacteria with 50% in comparison with similar materials. Therefore the KAMIZU Mats provide an easy and optimal bed for the billions of useful bacteria you need in your filter. Waist and other material from your pond are filtered from the water without problems.
